Exciting floor training day!
Trish's LEAP girls had a great day today during thier floor training and were excited to show what they accomplished today!

Northern Zone Championships
On Saturday March 17th, our athletes attended the Northern Zone Championships at St. Albert Gymnastics Club. This competition is the qualifier for Provincial Championships with the top 12 in each category moving on to provincials. The athletes all had an amazing day and posted some great results and personal bests!
In the Provincial 2 Tyro category, Triniry had an amazing Vault and placed 6th, 4th on Bars and finsihed 11th All Around! Bailey also had a great Vault placing 7th and had a beautiful stuck beam rouitne which earned her a 6th place finish. Sophie performed two great vaults and did the nicest kip cast she has ever done!
In the Provincial 2 Novice category, Madison placed 3rd on Vault, 3rd on Bars, 5th on Beam and 3rd All-Around. Darian was 6th on Vault, 4th on Bars, 7th on floor and 5th All-Around. Samantha had a strong and consistent day and performed two great vaults, a beautiful bar routine and one of her best floor routines to date this year!
In the Provincial 2 Open Category, Sara was 1st on Vault, 4th on Bars, 6th on Beam, 4th on floor and 4th All-Around!
In the Provincial 3 Open Category, Victoria was 2nd on Vault, 3rd on Bars, 3rd on Beam, 5th on Floor and 2nd All-Around!
The Provincial 2 girls all worked together to earn the club the 3rd Pace Provincial 2 Team award! Fantastic work ladies!!!!!

Great Start to the Year!!!!
Our Provincial and LEAP level athletes have had a phenomenal season so far! They have truly represented the club well and have achieved great personal success! We want to send out a huge congratulations to all of our athletes for thier results so far this year!
Capital City LEAP Event - January 14 & 15, 2012
Physical Ability:
This was the very first LEAP event for many of our Copper girls and they did a fantastic job - Tess and Erin got full points on their Denisiuk run, Anya got full points on her L-sit, Quinn got full points on her body alignment handstand and Katarinna came very close to passing at her first event! Congratulations to Ava, Corah and Sydney who passed thier Copper physical ability portion!
Our Bronze girls were equally amazing with Danielle and Tyra getting full point on thier denisiuk run as wel as thier vertical jump and Kaelyn got full points for the denisiuk, vertical jump and long jump! Jenna tested silver physical ability for the first time and recieved full points for her denisiuk run!
Skills:
Sydney tested her Copper level skills and tested her backwalkover for the very first time! Great job Sydney!

Our provincial level athletes took part in the Winter Flip Invitational at St. Albert Gymnastics Club and posted some great results!

In the P2 Tyro category Trinity placed 3rd on Beam and Sophie competed a front handspring vault over the table for the first time. Way to go ladies!!!!
Mardi Gras Invitational and LEAP event - Febuary 17 - 19, 2012
LEAP Event:
Physical Ability:
Tristyn , Elizabeth and Katrina attended thier very first LEAP testing at this event and had a blast while showing off some great strength and flexibility! Tristyn received full points for ther front splits and her bridge and Katrina recieved full points for her Denisiuk and long jump!
Our Bronze gilrs had a great day with Tyra getting full points for her Denisiuk and Kaelyn and Danielle passed thier physical ability!
Skills:
In copper Katrina attended her very first skills testing and represented herself and the club very well! In Bronze Tyra did her fisrt kip ever, Danielle did a fantastic front puck salto on vault and Kaelyn's front handspring vault was amazing!
Invitational Competition:
Our provincial level athletes took part in the Mardi Gras themed invitational competition at Salto Gymnastics Club in Sherwood Park. they came dressed in some great costumes for March in and then got down to business and showed off some great routines!
In the P2 Tyro category Trinity placed 8th on Vault and 1st on Beam, Bailey was 2nd on Vault and 8th on Bars and Sophie had a fantastic bar routine with her sole circle.
In P2 Novice Darian was 2nd on Bars, 2nd on Bars, 4th on Floor and 2nd All-Around, Madison was 3rd on Vault, 1st on Bars, 3rd on Floor and 3rd All-Around. Samantha was 6th on Vault and 5th on Bars and Grace was 8th on Beam.
In the P2 Open Category Sara placed 1st on Vault, 3rd on Bars, 4th on Beam, 6th on Floor and 3rd All-Around.

Dynamyx Sweetheart of a Meet Invitational - February 25, 2012
The provicncial level athletes attended the Sweetheart Invitational Competition at Dynamyx Gymnastics Club in St. Albert and were really feeling the love!
In the P2 Tryo category Trinity placed 5th on Vault, 1st on Beam and 3rd All-Around while Bailey placed 6th on Vault, 1st on Bars and 7th All-Around.
In P2 Novice Madison Placed 2nd on Vault, 1st on Bars, 3rd on Beam, 4th on Floor and 1st All-Around. Darian came 1st on Vault, 3rd on Bars, 5th on Beam, 1st on Floor and 3rd All-Around. Samantha earned her fisrt medals ever with a Silver on Bars and a Bronze on Vault as well as placing 5th on Beam, 6th on Floor and 5th All-Around. Grace also had a great day with a 5th place on Vault, 7th place on Floor and 8th place All-Around.
In P2 Open Sara continued her strong start to the year with 1st place finish on Vault, 2nd on Bars, 4th on Beam, 3rd on Floor and 3rd All-Around.
The girls had such a great meet that they won the Provincial 2 Team Award and came home with a cool new throphy for the trophy case!!!!
What a sucessful weekend!!!!!
